Digital education experts share valuable insights on Technology vs. Education Matrix
On 18 June 2020, DEL4ALL held its first webinar in response to the current COVID-19 situation. The webinar focused on the DEL4ALL Technology vs. Education Matrix, more specifically, on how the Matrix can help navigating digital learning in times of COVID-19.
The webinar kicked-off with a short introduction of the DEL4ALL project by Kai Zhang from DEL4ALL Project Coordinator Martel Innovate, followed by a presentation on actions taken by the European Commission in response to the coronavirus pandemic held by Anne Bajart, Deputy Head of Unit at DG CONNECT Unit G.2 Interactive Technologies, Digital for Culture and Education, European Commission.
Hereafter, DEL4ALL expert Dr Allan Third from The Open University presented the Technology vs. Education Matrix, which is central to coordinating DEL4ALL’s project activities as it serves as the working canvas for collecting data and bringing together technology, legal and pedagogical experts and policy makers to discuss the impact of digital technologies on the future of education. A total of 42 digital education experts joined the webinar and shared valuable feedback on the first version of the Matrix. The feedback will now be incorporated in the next version of the Matrix.
A big “thank you” from the whole DEL4ALL team to all webinar participants for their valuable input. This webinar was one of a series of activities DEL4ALL is currently organising in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on education. This summer, we will organise more activities, such as a workshop, a second webinar and a survey to understand how COVID-19 affects the digital enhanced learning environment. Stay tuned!
