The European Commission has recently launched the revised Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) «Resetting education and training for the digital age», which outlines the Commission’s vision for high quality, inclusive and accessible digital education in Europe.

The Action Plan has two strategic priorities:

  1. to foster a high-performing digital education ecosystem and
  2. to enhance digital skills and competences for the digital age.

During the next years, the Commission will undertake several activities to advance these strategic priorities, for instance, developing common guidelines for teachers and educational staff to foster digital literacy and creating a European Digital Skills Certificate (EDSC) that is recognised and accepted by governments, employers and others across Europe.
